TURNABOUT

Turnabout is the fridge door, on every grown-up's phone: the week's drop-offs, practices and pickups on one board. Hand a ride over with a magnet. It won't stick if they're already somewhere else.

This week tap or drag a magnet to hand a ride to the next grown-up

On the real door, a handover is a question: the other grown-up's phone buzzes and they tap yes before the magnet moves. Here the phone at the top answers for them, and nothing leaves this page.

    Even weeks, this fall

41,300 households run their week from a Turnabout door. Five of them sent us their sticker charts: a star for every week the tally came out even.

    What's on the door

    • Both phones show the same door. Change it on one and the other buzzes.
    • A handover is a question. The other grown-up says yes before it moves.
    • Clashes get caught. Nobody is booked into two places at once.
    • The tally keeps the week fair, and says so when it isn't.
    • Grandparents and sitters get a magnet too, and only see their rides.
    • Work trips land on the door by themselves, from Google, Apple or Outlook calendars.

To the grown-ups of the house

    One door, one price

$4 a month, for the whole household

Every grown-up and every child, one price, on iPhone, Android and the web. The first month costs nothing, and you can stop from the door any time. We don't show ads, and nobody else ever sees your family's week.

    Kemi & Dan

Reply slip: we'd like a door

Kemi and Dan made Turnabout after the Tuesday they each thought the other had swimming. Femi waited at the pool with a lifeguard until six. Drawn by Femi, age 7.
