Find the beat.
Keep your swing.

Your phone sees the movement. You see what to try next. Tempo is time going back divided by time coming down. This sample takes 0.90 seconds back and 0.30 seconds down. The three-to-one result comes from its keypoints, not a number painted on the screen.

A useful rehearsal is “one, two, three, through.” That is a starting point for a full swing, not a rule for every golfer, chip, or putt. A coach can help you find the rhythm that fits your motion.

The sample is an authored keypoint sequence. Camera mode uses the same timing calculation on detected movement. Poor visibility or an incomplete swing gives no result.

The body turns.

Watch the hip line turn orange as the swing loads. Tempofern compares its estimated orientation with your address position, then keeps that trace beside the timing. Change the sample below and the pose, trace, and estimate change together.

A single camera estimates depth. It does not measure joint angles like a lab, diagnose movement, or set a safe range of motion. Keep the same camera angle between sessions and discuss a restriction or pain with an appropriate professional.

Your move.
Its flight.

Finish a swing and your measured hand travel and downswing time set an estimated club-speed proxy. A moving clubhead strikes the ball; gravity, ground contact, bounce, and friction finish the shot. Try another rhythm and follow its trace.

This proxy scales hand travel by visible body height, assumes a 5 ft 9 in golfer, then applies a fixed arm-to-club factor. You can override it here. It is not measured club or ball speed. A webcam cannot measure spin, face angle, or real carry here. The illustration uses a 24° contact direction, still air, and simplified turf. Your real shot can be very different.

Five swings.
One useful thought.

For golfers who already know their way around a range and want feedback between lessons. Rehearse five swings, review the timing, choose one cue, and make the next five with that cue in mind. Bring the session to your coach instead of rebuilding your swing from a feed of tips.

“Seeing the rushed first move helped more than adding another swing thought.”

A practice aid for full swings with clear body visibility. It does not replace a lesson, fit your clubs, or promise a lower handicap. The lesson is in a repeatable comparison, not a perfect score.

07 / The next good swing

Take one thing
to the range.

Place your camera at hip height, face-on, far enough back to keep your head, hands, and feet in view. Start with an empty-handed rehearsal and clear space around you. Use a club only where you have room for a full swing.

Keep the view steady. Hold your address position briefly, complete a swing, and wait for a result. If the pose disappears or the camera is blocked, use the sample and try a brighter, wider setup later.
